Music
Music, Worship (and Media!)
Music is certainly an integral part of the many biblical expressions of worship. We believe it is one of the highest forms of worship expression. We also believe that powerful musical worship that invites the presence of God draws people--even unbelievers, rather than repels them.
What to Expect
We are a contemporary Pentecostal church, and nothing reflects that better than our music. We sing a blended style of contemporary choruses, mixed with revived hymns that have been adapted to our unique style of worship.
It is our goal to create a contemporary Pentecostal atmosphere where the flow of the Holy Spirit is evident and the worship is genuine. We are a church where the Holy Spirit directs the flow. We encourage all of our congregation to sing unto the Lord, and worship Him in spirit and in truth.
Our Worship is biblically based:
Why do we lift our hands?
Psalms 134:2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD.
I Timothy 2:8 I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
Why do we clap our hands?
Psalm 47:1 Oh, clap your hands, all you people! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
Why do we stand when we sing?
Psalms 135:1-3 Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD; Praise Him, O you servants of the LORD! You who stand in the house of the LORD, In the courts of the house of our God, Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant.
Why do people speak in tongues during worship?
I Corinthians 14:14-15 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. Also verse 39- Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.
